Allegiances were set aside last Saturday afternoon when two club mates fought in the semi-finals of the Merseyside and Cheshire Youth championships.
Salisbury ABC duo Joshua Rooney-Wright and began the championships with the opening bout at the Bibby Centre in Birkenhead.

The 60kg fight was the highlight of the weekend’s boxing with both young fighters giving an exhibition of boxing.
Tommy Dix, at ringside, said: “The action really did have to be seen to be believed; especially coming from boxers so young.
“The bout stands as a credit, not just to the two lads in the ring but also to their coaching staff who turned out to perform at such a high standard as this.
“We saw beautiful combinations, blocking, parrying and some great offensive flurries.
“You could have tossed a coin to pick a winner, the contest was so close. A real teaser for the judges.”
In the end, Joshua Rooney-Wright was awarded the decision.
